Story
Dear all - TRAT is over for this year and I'm now well over the sponsorship total.
Thanks all for your support before and during the event, it really did help get me through the six hard days of riding.
Extra thanks go to those who donated or bid for items in the Charity Auction on 1st August which raised an amazing £570!
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page for the Bishop Simeon Trust (BST).
This June I will be taking part in The Race Against Time. I will be cycling 876 miles from Lands End to John O‟Groats in just 6 days – 146 miles a day. It may just be one of the toughest challenges of my life, but worth it – because in doing the ride I will be raising vital funds for people affected by HIV/AIDS in South Africa.
The scale of the pandemic in Africa is huge, and the rate at which it is growing is frightening. There is a clear parallel between my challenge and the race to stop the effects of HIV/AIDS in Africa:
One African dies of AIDS related illness every 15 seconds. Around a quarter of the workforce in South Africa is HIV positive. There are nearly half a million new HIV infections in South Africa every year. There are currently 1.2 million AIDS orphans in South Africa. It really is a RACE AGAINST TIME to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Your donation will go direct to the Bishop Simeon Trust and be a valuable contribution to thier work dealing with the economic and social effects of HIV/AIDS in South Africa
The Race Against Time is a supported ride with assistance being provided by volunteers –all costs have already been met by the riders themselves and a corporate sponsor, so you can be assured that every penny of sponsorship you provide goes direct to the charity.
Your donation is a powerful motivator for me to train and complete the event and I am grateful for any contribution you can make, no matter how small.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bishop Simeon Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!

In addition to the funds currently raised online & offline, a further £140 has been pledged, a big thank you to all concerned.
