About the Y2Y Bike Ride
Got a bike? Do something amazing with it! Feeling bike-less? Borrow one, hire one, whatever you do don’t steal one! This is a call to all cyclists and budding keep fitters – get on yer bike to help a child in need!
Hove YMCA are proud to announce an exciting new fundraising event.
We’re teaming up with Guildford YMCA to run our first Y2Y Downslink Way Cycle Ride which will take place on Sunday 13th September 2009. We will be cycling from Hove YMCA to Guildford YMCA via the picturesque Downslink Way Cycle Route, a disused railway line running from Shoreham (near Brighton & Hove) to St. Martha’s Hill (near Guildford). From our starting point on Hove seafront we’ll be using on and off-road national and regional cycle routes to get to the Downslink Way near Shoreham. We want as many people as possible to take part in the bike ride and to get sponsorship to raise funds for Hove YMCA. If you're not able to take part please consider making a donation to our fundraising efforts via this page.
About Hove YMCA
Hove YMCA helps over 5,000 young people across the City of Brighton & Hove each year
We offer help to many different young people, but especially those who are isolated and struggling through homelessness, exclusion from school, family breakdown, poor mental health or drug and alcohol problems.
Hove YMCA was first established in 1919 and has been working in the local community ever since. In the last decade we have grown dramatically and now provide a wide range of services across Brighton & Hove. We believe that every child and young person deserves the chance to fulfil their God-given potential. Although we work with all members of the community we particularly aim to meet the needs of young people through a variety of projects and Sussex-wide initiatives.
