About The Charity

Pancreatic cancer is a devastating disease, killing 7,000 people each year in the UK. There are currently no suitable markers for early diagnosis and current treatments are largely ineffective. Research carried out in the Division of Surgery and Oncology at Liverpool University Hospital aims at understanding the causes of pancreatic cancer and finding treatments for this and other diseases of the pancreas.

There is currently no cure for acute pancreatitis. This means that treatment is based on supporting the functions of the body until the inflammation has passed. Both types of acute pancreatitis will require admission to hospital. Mild acute pancreatitis can be treated in a general hospital ward. Severe acute pancreatitis will require admission to a high dependency unit or an intensive care unit (ICU).

A vital part of their research is dependent on philanthropic donations. Every donation, however small is spent directly on pancreas research or treatment.

Why it is important to me

I am trying to raise much needed funding for Pancreatitis and Pancreatic Cancer Research at Liverpool University Hospital.

I am fundraising in loving memory of Carl Cropley, whom I have been so blessed and thankful to have known. He was a very loving, kind and caring man, who brought so much joy and laughter to those that knew him. Sadly he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last year from Pancreatitis. He was still a young man, only 47 years old. It has been such a deep shock to me and to everyone who knew him. It was such a profound personal loss.

I want to raise awareness of the conditions and raise funds to support the tremendous services by Liverpool University Hospital Research into the causes and diseases  of the Pancreas, and are asking you to help them by donating as much or as little as you can afford. Thank you.

About Me

I am hoping to raise at least £3,000 for the charity. So please help me to help them.

'Every little helps' as they say.

Thank you so very much for your kindness and time,

Jess Elizabeth x
