***36 HOUR TWITTERTHON*** UPDATE
WE DID IT! Over 36 gruelling hours, the lovely denizens of Twitter managed to utterly smash my £3000 target. I'm speechless with gratitude. I was blessed with some fabulous, funny followers to start off with otherwise we'd not have managed it, and was lucky enough to gain even more along the way. What a great experience! Thanks everyone.
***36 HOUR TWITTERTHON***
On 22/23 July I'll be spending a truly exhausting DAY AND A HALF on Twitter, and tweeting a minimum of once every ten minutes for the entire time. Yes, no napping for me. No sneaky trips outside either (I don't have an iPhone or any of that fancy nonsense).
I'm doing it to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, as their nurses helped my grandma.
She passed away when I was young, but she received free personal one-on-one nursing care from a Marie Curie nurse and was able to die in her own home rather than an impersonal hospital bed.
I'm also doing a sponsored trek across Jordan for a week in November (the middle eastern country that is, not the celebrity ex-wife of Peter Andre. It wouldn't take a whole week to trek across her).
The trek will hurt, I'll have to sleep in a tent and I won't get to wash- but I'm willing to sacrifice the integrity of my leg muscles and my personal hygiene to raise money for a great cause.
"Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer."
So with that in mind, please whip out your moneycard and sponsor me. If you do, I'll make you a lovely sandwich or post you a cake or something...
THANKS!
