Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis when I was 2 years old. It is a childhood form of rheumatoid arthritis and affects around 12,000 children under the age of 16.
Having such a condition has made me want to live life to the fullest and I'm a bit of an adrenalin junkie at heart.
I've had both hips and knees replaced but I have never done anything this scary before!
So the plan is to do a tandem skydive and raise funds for a fantastic cause! I'll be doing this on Saturday 7th May 2011 at Skydive Weston, RAF Weston on the Green, Bicester.
During my skydive I'll experience the thrill of freefalling from around 13,000ft.... Initially this will be at a speed of around 120mph before the parachute opens.... *gulp*
My chosen charity is NRAS. They are the only patient-led charity in the UK for people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and their peers. They offer information and support on their helpline, campaign in Parliament for better services, fundraise and run support groups across the UK.
NRAS have their 10th birthday this year and I would love to help ensure that they will be here in years to come, providing the support and information for others, as they have done for me :)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to NRAS and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer (so if you're a UK taxpayer, make sure you tick that box). It’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
If I reach my target then I'll even do my tandem skydive dressed as one of Charlies Angels ;)
Huge thanks to Sara at Finkfilm for designing my NRAS Skydive logo (love it!)
