Story
Did you know that every 3 months spent in an institution before the age of 3 stunts a child's growth by 1 month?
Hope and Homes for Children is an international charity working to ensure that all children have the chance to grow up in the love of a family. Their vision is a world in which children no longer suffer institutional care.
In the last year the charity has closed down 18 institutions and calculates that some 18,000 children benefited from their prevention work.
To help Hope and Homes for Children in a small way, we will be undertaking the 'Love in Every Step' trek through the Carpathian Mountains in Romania.
We will take in steep mountain passes, ancient forests, sweeping valleys and striking rock formations en-route to Omu Peak (2507m), the highest point in the region and double the height of Ben Nevis - is this a good time to mention that Roz is petrified of heights!!
The route will be tough at times and we have never undertaken anything this arduous before, but we will also be able to visit some of the life-changing projects that Hope and Homes for Children are involved in.
Each step we take will ensure more children in Romania are given the chance to grow up in the love and protection of a family.
The next few months will see us trekking around Norfolk & some less flat parts of the UK in preparation for this mammoth task.
Please support us in whatever way you can - encouragement is just as gratefully received as a donation and you can leave us comments via our facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/happyfeetcharitytrek/
