I do believe that if every single person who knows me was asked 'what comes to mind when you think of Hannah?' they would immediately say 'cats!' The love I have for all cats, big and small, is a lifelong addiction, so I have decided to undertake a big challenge to hopefully go a small way in giving something back to the animals that bring me so much joy. My challenge, starting on the 7th October 2017 and organised by the Cats Protection registered charity, is traveling to India and participating in a four day trek in the lesser Himalayan mountain range with a small group of like-minded people, followed by three days in Kanha Tiger Reserve (also known as Kanha National Park) helping with conservation projects that will go towards preserving tigers in the wild in this amazing part of the world. 

The trek itself will be no walk in the park! No electricity, no showers and no flushing toilet, trekking from 6-9 hours a day and camping under the stars in the mountain wilderness, up to nearly 3000m high altitude. Even after the trek the work is not over- at Kanha National Park I will be assisting with planting trees, weeding and other habitat maintenance to maintain the vital ecological balance in the Reserve.

All my sponsorship money raised will go  directly to the Cats Protection charity who are organising this wonderful opportunity, specifically the branch that operates in East Northumberland in North East England where I was born and bred and still live today.

I've never been much of an athlete so alongside trying to raise as much money as possible I will also be training extremely hard to get fit (and hopefully shed some excess pounds!) so I can ensure I am 100% successful and do you all proud. I can honestly say I've never been so excited and confident about needing to do something in my life to make a difference, and your donations (no matter how small) will help make that difference possible for a fantastic cause close to my heart.
