On the 21st August 2010 (my birthday), I have decided to (foolishly?) launch myself out of a plane, thousands of feet up in the air, descending at 120mph. I am doing this for The London Air Ambulance. Whilst on duty back in 2009, myself and shift partner, Jon White were first on scene to an accident where a male had been hit by a train. I performed a basic responsive first aid proceedure whilst awaiting The London Ambulance Service. A call then went out for The London Air Ambulance to also attend. They arrived within a matter of minutes and started to work tirelessly on the male. Unfortunately the male passed away, but he was given the best fighting chance of survival and could not have been in more capable hands. The London Air Ambulance are an inspirtational team, saving lives daily, in traumatic situations.

The London Air Ambulance is part-funded by the NHS and Sir Richard Branson gives £192,000. The health service pays the wages of the doctors and paramedics. But the charity still has to find £650,000 each year from the public to stay airborne. Donations pay for the helicopter pilots, helipad firemen and the aircraft and its running costs.

So, what I am asking you to do is quite simple - Just donate a little bit of money for a good cause in the sure and certain knowledge that it will obligate me to do the deed, and throw myself out of the open doors :). Aslo every penny donated, goes straight to London Air Ambulance, as I have paid for the parachute jump in full.
