Update (14 September 2020):
Unfortunately, due to Covid both Bay to Breakers and the SF Half Marathon have now been cancelled. The wildfire smoke in the Bay Area has also put a dent in training for now. So I'm sadly pressing pause on this, and will seek out a new race to take part in soon.

Update (26 June 2020):
As training is going well, I've decided to add an additional challenge and have signed up to also run the SF Half Marathon on 15th November 2020. This 13.1 mile (21km) race will be more than double the furthest I've run to date...

I'm going to run Bay to Breakers on 20th September 2020 in San Francisco. This 12km historic race from the San Francisco Bay to the breakers on Ocean Beach has been run since 1912, and is known for its colourful costumes and being one of the largest footraces in the world.

As many of you will know, cancer research is a cause close to my heart after losing my father, Dan Levin, to lung cancer in 2010. This race comes just a few weeks before the 10th anniversary of his passing, so I wanted to do something to honour his memory.
Those of you who know me will also know that I'm far from the athletic type... (my infamous sporting achievement from school was somehow managing to miss the high-jump mat on sports day). This will be the longest distance I've ever run (today I can just about manage 5km) and I'm excited to challenge myself to make it!
