Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED 17/12/08 in an hour and a quarter.
This involved me throwing 128 x 20kg (=44lb) curling stones (they really did weigh a tonne !) over a mile of ice. Got more than a few in the house too!
Many thanks to all of you who have contributed to this fabulous total which will stay up until mid January as I'm due some matched funding from my former employer! Thanks also to all of my very attractive Santa's little helpers and my "sorter" and to all who turned up at Braehead to cheer me on. I could have been playing at Murrayfield against England the way I felt! Finally my thanks to all at Braehead.
BUT, please don't stop there. The site remains open for those that meant to donate but couldn't because they were away on holiday etc etc .
The Hearts and Heroes Challenge, run by the Sportsman's Charity, with Poppyscotland and Scotland's rugby charity for disabled players, Hearts & Balls and with Scottish Rugby's Murrayfield Centenary Fund also as a beneficiary will support people who like me, have suffered life changing injuries. I have in many ways been lucky. Not so for everyone. This annual event will make sure help can be on hand.
So get into that site and see what you can do!
Meantime, from me a tonne of thanks!
