GOOFY RACE AND A HALF CHALLENGE 2012
On the weekend of 7th and 8th January 2012, Tristan Alder, Sarah Alder, Paula Lymn, Jeff Wood-Brignall, Lynn Cullwick, Ian Sims and Sandra Wood-Brignall will be taking part in the Goofy Race and a Half Challenge in Orlando, Florida and running "39.3 of the happiest miles on earth". In addition Richard Lymn, Lynda Lymn and Rick Wood-Brignall will be running/walking the Walt Disney World Half Marathon.
The Goofy challenge involves running the Walt Disney World Half Marathon and Walt Disney World full marathon on consecutive days within a set time limit. The reason for our participation in this madness/goofiness is that we are doing it to raise money for the Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance.
The Air Ambulance service is a vital service saving lives on a daily basis. They receive no funding from the government or the National Lottery and rely almost entirely on charitable donations to keep the service running. Their yearly running costs are £1.7million and they have flown over 500 missions this year alone. All in all a very worthy cause.
