Story
Go Fiit in collaboration with the East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals Charity are hosting a fitness challenge event to raise
awareness for prostate cancer and raise funds for the vital work needed to save lives.
GoFiit Nutition will be bringing local fitness communities together to help fight cancer. The challenge will involve a team of fitness enthusiasts doing a monumental 14 thousand push-ups in under three hours or 10 push ups every minute! GoFiit owner and local Fire Fighter will lead the charge by attempting 1000 push-ups individually on the day.
The event will be held on the 10th of September in the Market Square in Hitchin from 11am-4pm.
WHY ARE WE TAKING THIS CHALLENGE ON?
Research from Prostate Cancer UK has estimated that in the region of 14,000 men across the UK have gone untested for prostate cancer during the past 24 months as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. We want to make it our mission to find this 14,000 men.
We know that if diagnosed early prostate cancer is very treatable so our 14,000 push up challenge is raising funds for a Men's Health Champion at Lister Hospital who will help raise awareness of the symptoms and PSA testing within the local community as well as supporting men throughout their treatment.
Every penny raised will help support the Men's Health Champion so please donate generously and come and cheer us on as we take on the challenge this September!
