Story

I am proud to be fundraising for the FireFighters Charity. I ran the London Marathon in April 2018 carrying my bicycle, as a sign of my respect for the resilience of UK Fire Fighters and the burdens that they and their families bear.

On Saturday 12 July, I shall run 100km along the Ridgeway - the ‘Race to the Stones’ at Avebury - (without bike!) as a continuation of my fundraising efforts.

As a warm-up in January, I completed the Gloucester Marathon and set the unofficial World Record for ‘fastest marathon carrying a bicycle’, completed in 4:51:30

In preparation for this, I completed the following challenges, carrying my 15kg fixi bike, during 2017: Blenheim 10km run 1stOctober; Oxford half-marathon 8thOctober; Portsmouth Great South Run 22ndOctober. I have also completed two treadmill-marathons carrying this bike!

When Firefighters need help to recover from illness, or physical or emotional trauma sustained in the line of duty, the Fire Fighters Charity provides the support that they need.
