Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
As some of you are aware, I like a challenge and have decided to compete in the Jedburgh Three Peaks Ultra Marathon (38 miles mainly on trail and cross country) on 29th October. More importantly, I will be raising funds for our Family Fund with Muscular Dystrophy UK - Georgie's Genes.
Our daughter Georgie was diagnosed with L-CMD in November 2014. L-CMD is a very rare form of congenital muscular dystrophy caused by a mutation in the lamin A/C gene which leads to progressive muscle weakness of the skeletal, respiratory and heart muscles. L-CMD is so rare that there is little knowledge about the disease progression and there are only a handful of children in the UK that have the condition. By participating in this event I hope to raise funds to support the research and development into this, as yet, incurable condition.
