I'm trying to convince the body to plod around the Great North Run for a 3rd successive year in the hope that I can raise a bit of money for the Disasters Emergency Committee East Africa Crisis Appeal. Having spent an amazing couple of weeks in Kenya this summer, the warmth and welcoming nature of the country touched me, and their subsequent plight has been heartbreaking.

Anything you can give, however small, will be felt massively in East Africa where 10 million people in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and  Republic of South Sudan have been left in need of food, water and emergency healthcare because of one of the worst droughts in 60 years.
