Most of you know that I was initiated into plants and gardening by my grandparents, and used to spend hours in their garden, whether it was dividing Iris, picking Sweet Peas for sale or sowing Runner Beans!

Once my Grandad passed away, my Nana seemed to get weaker, and developed Alzheimers, which was very sad, as she was someone I was very close to, and had learnt so much from.

So, to marry up the world of exotic plants with a good cause, I have chosen the tough, 12 day trek from coast to coast on Costa Rica, raising money for the Alzheimer's Society.

Rather than choosing a scheme where part of your donations go towards the trip, I am self funding, which means 100% of the money I raise will go to the Alzheimer's Society.

So, I've started training (which could involve someone holding bugs in my face or putting worms in my pants!) and would really appreciate your kind donations! It won't be a walk in the park!
