Education will ensure a bright future for Pakistan.

If you agree, then please join hands with Future Leaders of Pakistan, Pakistan's premier youth leadership organization, to provide scholarships to underprivileged children.

The NGO we are supporting is The Citizens Foundation, one of the best non-profit organizations working in Pakistan. TCF has built over 600 schools in Pakistan's urban slums and rural areas that educate the country's most deprived children. 

It costs only £77 per year to education one child at a TCF school (this includes everything from uniforms, books, supplies, computer maintenance to teacher's salaries). Keeping this in mind, FLP has decided to support 15 students at a TCF school for one year. This gives us a very modest target of £1,155 which we hope to surpass given your generosity and hopefully provide education to the school's entire student population of 165 students!

The school we have chosen is in Karachi's urban slum Hawks Bay. It was established in 2005 and currently enrolls 165 bright students, 42% of whom are girls. 

To ensure that quality education at TCF schools is affordable for every student, a financial aid system is in place and up to 95% scholarship can be awarded beyond the already subsidized fee. Aid is evaluated on overall household income and therefore TCF has a flexible fee structure that charges Rs. 10- 200 (£0.07- 1.53) for primary schools and Rs. 20- 300 (£0.15- 2.3) for secondary schools. The fee itself is nominal and the actual costs incurred are far greater which are funded through donations such as yours.

Campaign period will be from 1st December 2009 to 23rd March 2010. We will be organizing fundraising events and visits to TCF schools in Pakistan. If you would like to get involved or require more information, please contact tamreez@gmail.com or salman.ravala@gmail.com.
