Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
To celebrate my upcoming 50th birthday I have decided to do a wingwalk for the charity SeeKenya.
I have had the opportunity to go to Kenya 3 times with this charity. While there we run clinics over 7/8 days seeing up to 200 people a day and we still have to turn people away. In Kenya, blindness is a life shortening condition. If someone cannot see, they are unable to work to provide for their family.
Everyone who attends the clinic gets a eye health check. Many of the people go away with eye drops for conditions such as glaucoma, infections, dry eyes and allergies. Many children need eye drops for allergies which left untreated can lead to them losing there sight. To treat this condition costs as little as £18 a year. People with more serious conditions often need referral for surgery, some of which will need to travel the 5 hours to Nairobi. A corneal graft costs £60. which is paid for by the charity.
During my last visit to Kenya in Febuary, over 1000 pairs of glasses were made on site and many people left with ready readers. Every adult and child were given sunglasses to protect their eyes from the sun.
Any donation, however small, will go to help these people in Kenya
Many thanks in advance.
