Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit Colin's JustGiving page.
Colin Bedford is 84 years old and lives in March, Cambridgeshire. He is the Chairman and founding member of the March Veteran & Vintage Cycle Club.
Colin has been Type 1 diabetic for over thirty years. He also suffered a torn retina in his right eye in 2012 and treatment for this has involved visits to Hinchingbrooke Hospital every month for injections. To date, Colin has received over sixty injections to maintain his vision.
Inspired by Captain Sir Tom Moore, Colin would like to give something back and complete a sponsored cycle ride on some of his vintage cycles. He will be undertaking this from Monday 21st September to Friday 25th September, and completing 5 miles a day around his local groves. Each day, he will be riding a different cycle and dressing in the appropriate period clothing to suit the cycle.
The total number of miles that Colin hopes to complete is 25 – this is the distance from his home to Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
Diabetes UK and the Huntingdon Eye Centre have helped Colin (and many others) over the years and he would like to be able to support the work they do by raising some money to donate to them. Any donations received will be shared between them.
Colin wishes to thank you in advance for your support.
