Story
Most people know by now that I have a spinal cord injury from having a tethered spinal cord. I had surgery in 2018 but have been left with permanent damage to my spine, legs, bowels and bladder function. With the support of my neurology team, Aintree Healthy Bowels, Urologist, family and friends etc I have been able to learn how to live with my injury. However for some people even more support is needed. Aspire provides the essential equipment, advice and housing that spinal cord injured people need to live their lives.
Facing losing my independence is an on going threat as my injury deteriorates but knowing there is support ready is a small relief.
This is me trying to do my small part for other people also living with spinal cord injury 💙
