Hi, we are taking part in the Two Balls Rally- the challenge is 4 countries in 4 days in a car costing less than £550!!

9 years ago my first son was still born. He was perfect in every way, but my placenta had clogged and he was denied the oxygen he needed. At 35weeks gestation I had to give birth to my baby who would never cry or look into my eyes, his future stollen away before it even began. It's hard to describe the emotions you go through and SANDS was there to deal with what others can't see! The guilt, the anger, and unrelenting sadness, then of course the worry of will it happen again.

SANDS not only support parents but the whole family, they provide information on the practical things you never thought to ask- like should your child have a postmortem! We also received a tiny book in which the wonderful midwives put a hand and foot print, bits of his hair, a photo along with the usual weight and time of birth information. -all possible due to funding from SANDS.

They also support research, and in the 9 years since Harry's death that rate has dropped from 17 to 15 stillborn/ neonatal deaths a day in the UK.
