Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I’m taking on IRONMAN UK in Bolton, as my first long course triathlon. I got into the sport during 2020’s lockdowns, completed Outlaw Half Holkham last year, and now will step up to full distance. Often termed the toughest day out in sport, an IRONMAN consists of a 2.4 mile (3.9 km) open water swim, followed by 112 miles (180.2 km) on the bike, and finished by running the 26.2 mile (42.2 km) marathon. A total race distance of 140.6 miles, which to give a sense of perspective is 65% of the drive from Norwich to Bolton! And to be awarded the accolade of ‘IRONMAN’ it has to be completed inside 17 hours.
Though this is a somewhat selfish personal endeavour, I thought I’d try to raise money for a good cause in doing it. I’m seeking sponsorship please for East Anglian Air Ambulance, a charity that hits two of my passions: aviation and first aid. I’m always interested to see ‘Anglia One’ in the skies over Norfolk, but then remind myself it also means someone, somewhere, is in serious trouble. EAAA relies upon donations to keep their two helicopters (Anglia Two is based in Cambridge) in the air and fleet of rapid response vehicles running, to deliver medical expertise to people in need across our region. “Together we save lives”: if you can help me to support them through sponsorship I’d be very grateful - thank you.
