Story
Final event of my Ultra 1-2-3 challenge set for 2021.
If you can recall it all started in January when I completed
the task of running the miles of every day’s date throughout the month. We then
moved onto a single day of running 55 miles in under 12 hours on my birthday
April 17th. This was also completed and still remains the furthest I
have travelled self-propelled in one single event.
This brings us to event number 3 and at the moment it has
only been disclosed through hints, suggestions and brief trailer video that
some folks may have missed. Well with a matter of only 65 days until I intend
setting off it’s time to explain a little more?????
Over the next few weeks, I shall be starting some weekly
Blog Videos to help you understand what is required from training, logistics,
planning and mentality towards such an undertaking. The fundraising must and
will continue on behalf of Severn Hospice via www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tg80
and it is to this end that the final event of my Ultra 1-2-3 has to focus once
again on my Dad.
Mr & Mrs G senior lived for sometime in Barmouth Wales
and during that time they would often sit, walk and sail around the harbour
area. This being such a special place for them, it became the ideal place to
lay his ashes to rest. So, on 27th July 2019 I had the honour of sending
him out into the sea where he had spent so many hours of his life.
So, with his memory firmly fixed as a focus to complete event
number three, I can now confirm that baring any injury, unforeseen circumstances
or unsafe weather/road conditions Run the One is a go!
On Monday 26th July at 1pm I will attempt the run of 100 Miles from Tividale to Barmouth Bridge in time to mark 2 years since we said our final goodbyes.
The main task is to get there self-propelled at some point on Tuesday 27th
but as a personal target I would like to do it in under 24 hours.
Further information, requests for help, possible corporate sponsorship
and any other bits n pieces related to my crazy ideas will follow as we move
towards the day.
Thank you for your continued support and please keep
watching!
