Story
On the 26th April 2020 Marcus, Andrew and Jonny will be running the 26.2 miles route through London for the NSPCC.
With your support we can help make a difference to hundreds of children across the UK. Any donation is welcome and we are planning different events through the year to hopefully reach our target.
How your support will make a difference:
- It costs £4 for one of our trained volunteer counsellors at our Childline centres in Prestatyn and Cardiff to answer a child's call for help
- On average, a child or young person contacts Childline every 25 seconds
- £3 could pay for a NSPCC Speak Out. Stay Safe to reach one primary school child in Wales, giving them the knowledge they need to protect themselves from abuse
- £555 could pay for the NSPCC Speak Out. Stay Safe programme to visit a primary school and speak to every child aged 5-11 about their right to be happy and safe
Last year, our highly trained social workers worked directly with 63 children and families across the whole of North Wales, to help them recover from abuse. Our Speak Out. Stay Safe staff and volunteers visited 147 schools in North Wales and spoke to over 12,500 local children. And across the UK, Childline volunteers delivered over 295,000 counselling sessions to children and young people – we estimate that around 2,900 of those young people live in North Wales.
