Team DIVA are taking part in this year’s Red Run to raise money
for METRO, a leading equality and diversity charity providing health,
community and youth services across London and the south-east.
One of the UK’s largest World AIDS Day community events, the Red Run has raised over £200,000 for HIV charities since 2008. This year’s event takes places on Sunday 26 November in Victoria Park in London, and Team DIVA will be running 5k – raising money for METRO’s Hardship Fund.
The charity, which was established in 1984 under the name The Greenwich Lesbian and Gay Centre, provide a variety of services both nationally and internationally across sexual and reproductive health, community, mental health and wellbeing, youth and HIV.
"I'm simply delighted that Team DIVA have chosen to support METRO," said Dr Greg Ussher, the charity's CEO. "We are expecting to reach over 100 applications to our Hardship Fund this year alone. The £50 grants help individuals and families who are already accessing our services to stay warm, fed and able to travel to important appointments.
“These grants can make such a difference at a time of crisis, whilst we work with service users to navigate through issues such as benefit sanctions, new diagnosis and changes in their health.”
Thank you for supporting Team DIVA to raise money for individuals and families in need.
