Story

Win Mike Joyce's ‘Strangeways, Here We Come’ Silver Disc!
We are a Manchester charity called Back on Track and Mike Joyce is our patron and friend. To help us meet new demands from the cost of living crisis, Mike is raffling off his Silver Disc for The Smiths fourth and final studio album - Strangeways, Here We Come, 35 years after the album's release. For only £5 a ticket, this is your once in a lifetime opportunity to own an incredibly rare and special piece of music history! To give everyone the chance to enter we have extended the raffle to 12 October 2022.

From all of us at Back on Track, we’d like to thank you for getting involved and supporting our charity. We are already seeing the devastating impact that the cost of living crisis is having and we are planning ways to further support people in Greater Manchester through the coming winter. All of the money raised through this raffle will go towards these projects.

A message from Mike
"Hi folks, I’d like to invite you to be in with a chance of owning a unique piece of music memorabilia while also helping a charity I am involved with. I’ve been working with Back on Track for the last few years and I’ve seen first hand the fantastic work that the charity does. I’m now taking this opportunity to try and generate some much needed funding for the people they support. I wanted to have a raffle rather than an auction so that everyone who buys a ticket has an equal chance of owning it. Of course you can buy as many tickets as you wish and we want to raise as much as possible. Many thanks for helping!"

About the Disc
This is the official silver disc for the album which was issued to commemorate that UK sales had reached over 60,000 copies. The collectible has a BPI hologram and will come with a letter of authenticity, and it has been signed by Mike Joyce. It is approximately 20" x 16" framed and glazed (as seen in the photo). This is an original disc presented to Mike at the time of release 35 years ago and is not a copy.

Strangeways, Here We Come is The Smiths' final album. Rolling Stone said that this album ‘stands as one of The Smiths best and most varied records’. Mike Joyce, Morrissey and Johnny Marr have all said that the album is the band's best work.

There are also four runner up prizes of prints of the photo of Mike with the disc, taken by acclaimed photographer Paul Husband. The prints are signed by Mike.
