Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Thursday, 24th May, 2018, I will walk (I may run a bit if I get bored) from Baltimore to Washington, DC (40 miles), to raise money for cancer research. In January, 2018, my Dad died from multiple myeloma (MM), a cancer of the bone marrow. There is currently no cure for MM. The money raised will be used to further advance cancer research.

Update: University of Maryland School of Pharmacy students Josh Borris and James Mease will be walking by my side the whole journey.

In a funny way, Dad inspired me to do this walk. Last summer, I walked about 10 miles up to the lily ponds just outside of Wolsingham, towards Tow Law and then down to Tunstall Reservoir and back to Dad’s house. When I returned home several hours later, Dad was on the phone to my older brother, and he said, “Oh, Forrest Gump’s back!” Joe and I were amazed Dad knew who Forrest Gump was! Anyway, this is for you, Dad.
