Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 29th July 2018 (6 days’ time), I plan to cycle 100 miles on the roads of London and Surrey, taking on the immense challenge of the Prudential Ride London. This is an Olympic Legacy event which has taken place since 2013. Can you believe the London Olympics were over six years ago!
I have a goal of improving my 2017 time (6 hours 19 mins), going quicker hopefully by up to an hour, assuming I get no punctures or mechanicals (that’s what they’re called in the cycling fraternity).
One of the many ways to enter has been to donate my time and effort for the charity Blind Veterans UK. Blind Veterans UK have support centres throughout the UK, which provides training and rehabilitation to ex-Service personnel and, for me, this is a very worthwhile course.
Please help me by supporting the Blind Veterans UK, I want to raise as much money as possible. My target is £2,500.00, In return I have been training hard to give myself the best possible chances of getting through the day comfortably and quickly!
I plan to push myself considerably more than last year, I’m fitter, lighter, leaner and have a carbon bike so hopefully can achieve my goal. As with last year, I will offer a ‘2018 version’ photograph of me at the finish line for you to put on your wall (warning: Lycra alert, this may need risk assessing).
