Story
We are walking the Staffordshire Way across the summer of 2021 to raise funds for the Stafford Together Fund. This is a place-based community fund that supports charities, community and voluntary groups in the borough of Stafford, who are working on a grassroots level to support disadvantaged people in their local area.
The Staffordshire Way is a 92 mile path that spans the county from north to south. It is made up of publicly accessible footpaths, and takes in parts of Newcastle-under-Lyme, the Staffordshire Moorlands, East Staffordshire, Cannock Chase, Stafford and South Staffordshire. It starts near Mow Cop on the Staffordshire/Cheshire border and ends at Kinver in South Staffordshire.
The path will be walked over 8 separate days:
- Saturday 7th August 2021 - Mow Cop to Rudyard
- Thursday 12th August 2021 - Rudyard to Kingsley
- Sunday 15th August 2021 - Kingsley to Rocester
- Monday 16th August 2021 - Kingsley to Abbots Bromley
- Saturday 21st August 2021 - Abbots Bromley to Cannock Chase
- Sunday 22nd August 2021 - Cannock Chase to Telford Aqueduct
- Sunday 26th September 2021 - Telford Aqueduct to Seisdon
- Saturday 2nd October 2021 - Seisdon to Kinver Edge
If you would like to take part please contact us, as places are limited on the organised walk, or as it is a public network of pathways you could walk the way yourself. Information on the Staffordshire Way walk is available here: https://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/environment/RightsofWay/distancewalks/Documents/staffordshire-way-booklet-2.pdf
Thank you for your interest in our work to support communities across the borough of Stafford.
