Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I started training for this run in Dec to help my wife jodie train for a half marathon . I had stopped running as there were no races on due to covid and felt it hard to run without any motivation . I started running again and felt the need for a challenge. So saw this ultra Yorkshire challenge and thought it would push me to my limits as a type 1 diabetic and as a human being . As a type 1 diabetic throughout my childhood I always wanted to be normal so was always the one pushing everything to the limits . It took me a long time to come to terms with being diabetic and now I am ,im still trying to push myself in good ways . Healthy eating , training and I wanted to show new diabetics that anything is possible as a type 1 . I started a u tube channel training for 2 ultra marathons with T1 diabetes to try and help new diabetics see that you will always make mistakes with your diabetes but that it's OK we are only human . It's about learning to cope with the problems not stress and find solutions to try and improve your control . This is my 3rd challenge after starting running i said i would do a half , marathon then ultra but ive gone extreme and gone for double ultra as my 3rd challenge.
I wasn't going to do it for charity as what with covid lots of people have struggled but lots of people said I should as its a great achievement . So here I am making a page . If you can donate any amount Diabetes UK will greatly appreciate it
