Story
The outbreak of the Coronavirus has quite literally changed everyone's lives and turned society upside down. The virus does not discriminate based on age, gender or social standing.
Neither does The Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army in Shakespeare Street has been a hub of the local community for a number of years. Our coffee shop provides a warm welcome and a meeting place for countless people during the week. Our weekly 'Friendship Cafe' meets a real need among those who may be struggling with loneliness or isolation. And our shop offers clothing and furniture to meet your budget.
In addition, we provide furniture and clothing support to families in need who have been referred to us. We partner with other agencies in giving practical and financial support in the form of energy card top-ups, we're active participants in the Southport Foodbank, running a weekly session from our building, and we're supporters of the Soup Kitchen.
As we begin to open our doors again , we’re finding that the level of need is higher than ever.
Will you stand with us? Will you support us financially, so that we can support the people of Southport practically? Not only now, but into the coming months - the need is not going to go away. Thank you!
