We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Cancer Touches Everyone!   The statistics are frightening with 1 in 5 females and 1 in 6 males being diagnosed with one of the 100 types of known cancer.

Like most of you reading this I have lost friends and colleagues to cancer, most younger than me and before their time leaving loved ones and friends devastated.   I know even more inspiration survivors fighting the toughest of fights to overcome the illness or simply to buy more time to be with those most precious to them.

Unfortunately there appears to be no sense of urgency for us to win this battle and funding is sporadic for the many organisations out there working on a cure!   We have seen what happens when this urgency is created with the vaccines for Covid in a short space of time.

However let me create that urgency for you.  Currently there are over 3 million people with cancer in the UK and over a 1,000 new cases are diagnosed everyday.  This is increasing.   Many do survive cancer with the amazing treatments however over 165,000 people in the UK succumb to cancer or linked illnesses every year.  Over the next 5 years this is expected to surpass 250,000.  (stats from Cancer Research UK) .

This is all about cause and effect.  Research is key and this is where I believe the focus needs to be.

Please support me to focus on beating Cancer sooner not later!

My challenge is to raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research by sparring 100 martial artists and non martial artist in 2 minute rounds back to back.  At the age of 52 this will be tough challenge however it is nothing compared to those fighting the fight.

Thank you
