We are very proud to announce that Stephen Gray, our Business Development Director is taking up the huge challenge of attempting to Summit Island Peak 6189m in the Everest region of the Himalaya. Island Peak is equal in altitude to Camp 1 of Everest. This will be Stephen's 17 day travel/Trek and Mountain climb itinerary :

(Thursday 14th) Fly from Stansted to Dubai 20.15, catch a connecting flight and arrive in Kathmandu 18.30 Friday 15th.

  • Day 1 Arrive 18.30, dinner bed and up at 3am for the bus journey.
  • Day 2 In a small aircraft carrying only 13-14 we leave Manthali Airport and arrive at Lukla (Tenzin & Hilary) Airport.
  • Day 3 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m, 6-7h)
  • Day 4 : Trek to Khangjuma (3550m, 6h)
  • Day 5 : Trek to Tengboche (3876m, 4-5h)
  • Day 6 : Trek to Dingboche (4400m, 6h)
  • Day 7 : Acclimatisation day in Dingboche
  • Day 8 : Trek to Chukung (4700m, 3h)
  • Day 9 : Acclimatisation day in Chukung
  • Day 10 : Trek to Base Camp (5000m, 4h)
  • Day 11 : Summit Island Peak (6189m) and trek to Chukung (4700m, 12h)
  • Day 12 : Trek to Tengboche (3876m, 6h)
  • Day 13 : Trek to Manjo (2800m, 6-7h)
  • Day 14 : Trek to Lukla (2800m, 5h)

We care for children & young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambs, Essex, Norfolk & Suffolk and support their families. This can be at home, in hospital or at one of three hospices at Milton, The Treehouse and The Nook. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income.
