Simmons VCU-Marquette Walkathon · 14 April 2021

We fund PT research grants, scholarships, and fellowships. Research makes the profession of physical therapy stronger by defining the value of physical therapy, providing data to help PTs and PTAs deliver the best care, and developing innovative treatments and approaches.

Story

The VCU-Marquette Challenge is a yearly competition among physical therapy programs across the country to fundraise for the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research (FPTR). This is the only non-profit organization solely dedicated to funding PT research, grants & scholarships for research.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, nonprofits like FPTR are massively affected due to economic disruptions around the world. Please help us help the Foundation preserve the future of the profession and continue to advance the care that we offer patients.

To raise money for the Challenge this year, the Simmons University Physical Therapy Association (SUPTA) is hosting a virtual walkathon event. Each of our class years will form teams to track their progress through an app called Strava, and eventually we will declare a winning team! We need your help to donate and keep our students walking for this cause!
