Story
Pancreatic Cancer changed our lives forever on the 1st August 2019 while we were on a family holiday in Wales and we got the news that Papa had stage IV Pancreatic Cancer.
He had been suffering with back and stomach pain since June 2019 and after several appointments with the doctors he was referred to have a CT scan. The scan showed a mass on the pancreas and a biopsy then confirmed this.
From the day he was diagnosed he took on the greatest challenge with such grit and tenacity. He never questioned why and took on each day in his stride which is the way he has always been.
After three months of battling this aggressive disease, Papa sadly passed away peacefully on the 25th October 2019.
We can't change the past but we have to fight to change the future. Pancreatic Cancer UK work tirelessly to raise money to develop new tests for early diagnosis for this awful disease along with supporting those that have been diagnosed. The help and support that we received from the nurses at Pancreatic Cancer UK during this difficult time was invaluable.
Thank you.
