Story

Jacqi, Debbie and Jennie would like to thank you for taking the time to visit their JustGiving page. Although some may think they are crazy for what they are about to embark on, if you take a minute to read the cause I am sure you will see its more then worth it.

YES YOU READ RIGHT 13.1 MILES (a half marathon) ON A CHILDRENS SCOOTER.

Some of you may be wondering why, well here it is......

The Rising Sun is an award winning domestic abuse charity that supports women and girls who are at risk or exploitation and abuse. We aim to help women make their own choices, regain their freedom and control of their life's.

One of the most valuable services rising sun has to offer is the outreach children's programmes. Many young children are affected by domestic abuse in their family homes. "THE ALL ABOUT ME PROGRAMME '  is a therapeutic group programme for children who have experienced trauma linked to domestic abuse. Focusing on building confidence, relationships and self-esteem. This is achieved through engaging in fun activities.

This programme is funded through generous donations and constant fundraising. We would like you to help us support this cause by supporting The Rising Sun, your donations whatever its size - will have an impact on our service to support those who live with or have experienced domestic abuse.

So if you wish to support 3 mature  women whose friendship knows no limits on a quest to achieve a half marathon on a child's scooter. Please however small or large your choice to support us will be greatly appreciated.

Watch this space for updates, Facebook page coming soon. Save the date Sunday June 18th.
