Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those who don't know me my name is Sarah and I have worked at East Cheshire Hospice for 14 years. I am currently Clinical Director of Hospice @Home, managing an amazing team who provide hands on palliative care to people in the homes at end of life, enabling them to die with peace and dignity in a place they call home, and all the while supporting their families and loved ones through one of the most difficult times in their lives. My work life involves face to face collaboration with other members of community teams to ensure we work in partnership to provide 1st class palliative care to patients in East Cheshire, teaching, meetings, staff support but very little time on my feet and physically doing something!! This Trek is a huge challenge for me from actually leaving my family behind and getting on a plane, to getting myself to a peak physical condition to be able to survive the challenge ahead. We rely on our fundraising team to raise at least £7500 a day to keep our doors open and our services running free of charge to patients and carers. Its now my time to push myself harder and support the fundraising for the hospice as well as giving voluntary time to the Hospice in Nepal during the trip.
There will be approximately 5 other people trekking with me, we have never met before but are all wanting to support the work of the hospice as it has touched our lives and so many others.
What ever donation big or small will help support me in making sure East Cheshire Hospice continues the excellent work it has provided our community over the last 30 years - everyone will need end of life care one day including me and my family - please help me to ensure East Cheshire Hospice stays the center of excellence in palliative care for many years to come.
