Story

I am running a half marathon in March 2021 to raise funds for the ground breaking research into thymic cancer.  I am working with Guy's Cancer Thymic research team a promise which I vowed to keep to my late friend Wendy Lodder.

Wendy an avid golfer was sadly diagnosed with advanced thymic carcinoma an incredibly rare thorasic cancer in October 2016.

Before Wendy’s passing in October 2018 from this aggressive cancer she asked if I would help to expand the knowledge by means of research of this little known cancer.

This is a promise I am keeping trying to raise money and awareness in her name.

As part of this, I am taking on my first ever half marathon. I am new to running so this is a mammoth challenge but I am determined to achieve a task which is insignificant in comparison to the journey Wendy endured.

I am determined to raise awareness of this rare and aggressive cancer and to fund research which will help more people in the future.

All the money raised from this marathon will go towards helping the Thymic Tumour Fund at Guy's Cancer Centre in London.

I can’t Thank you enough for reading this with any donations hugely appreciated. All donations will be used in the knowledge to help find a cure for this cancer and honour Wendy’s memory.

Thank you
