We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

In 2019 I ran the Yorkshire Marathon barefoot to raise money, I also did a treadmill-a-thon. I feel I didn't really know what i was doing as I'd never fundraised before, so this year I want to do better.

So the plan is to run Manchester and a few other events in 2020.

  • In April I've  got Manchester Marathon.
  • In July I am running for 24 hours at EndureLeeds,
  • And a week after this 24 hour run I plan to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks.
  • More events may be added

My aim is not only to smash last years total but also to spread awareness of alzheimers/dementia, especially of the early signs of the disease

*****UPDATE AND NEW PLAN****

Ok... so 2020 had gone a little bit off the rails, so I'm having to have a bit if a rethink. Do below its three new plan as it currently stands:

  • April - garden marathon
  • May - virtual yorkshire 3 peaks, elevation using staircase and distance using garden
  • June - running for 24 continuous hours with the aim of hitting 100 miles

More details to come.  Keep an eye in my instagram stories (@AmbitiousFailure) or twitter (@AnLasair) for planning and training information

I'll also try to get some info on my blog ( https://theambitiousfailure.wordpress.com/ ) now that I've got a better idea of what's happening
