Story
On 3rd April I will be running the Manchester Marathon.
The furthest I’ve ran prior to this is the Leeds Half.
The Manchester Marathon will be the furthest I’ve ever ran to date so this a challenge for me.
This brings me on to the reason for my run..
Unfortunately and sadly our friend Jamie Locke passed away on the 7th January from Diabetes Type 1.
I’ve spoke with his lovely family, in particular Jamie’s Mum Annie and they have given me their blessing to run in memory of Jamie.
I met Jamie when he was working as a Chef in the kitchen at The Last Inn. Like everyone that knew him, I loved how much of a cheeky chappy he was. Always dancing in the kitchen with a tea towel whipping people and constantly giving everyone banter… I’d love to be able to wind back the clock and be back in the kitchen completing the ‘cinnamon challenge’ with him (Eat a tbsp of cinnamon with no drink)…not the most successful challenge I can tell you!
Therefore in the memory of Jamie, I ask for you to dig deep and sponsor me. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Diabetes UK is a fantastic charity and one that could save the life of many people.
In the words of Jamie “Oh Yeah” x
Thank you,
Rich
