We provide dedicated care and support to Sheffield people with terminal illness

Story

On Saturday 9th February I along with 6 close friends will be walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in order to raise funds for St Luke's Hospice.

My brother John sadly lost his battle with cancer last year. Throughout his illness he was cared for by staff from St Luke's hospice. Prior to his passing I promised John that I would walk the 3 Peaks in his memory and to raise much needed funds for St Luke's.

His wish was that this to be done on his Birthday as no doubt it would be cold, dark and wet in February so the walk would be far more challenging than if done in the summer months.

St Luke’s is dedicated to delivering the best possible care to Sheffield people who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and their families. Their skilled, dedicated staff care for 1,800 adult patients a year - all free of charge. St Luke’s need to raise £7.2 million each year to keep going.

About the charity

St Luke’s is an independent charity caring for terminally ill adults and their loved ones across Sheffield. Each year, we care for around 1,900 patients most of whom are cared for in their own home by our Specialist Palliative Care Community team.
