Story
*** £2 donation only*** *** £2 donation only*** *** £2 donation only***
On the 19th December I will be cycling 600km/370 miles from Dieppe in France to Cochem in Germany, going through Belgium and Luxembourg.
I have 3 aims for this event.
Firstly to raise £1000 for the amazing Naomi House and Jacksplace hospice. They do such amazing work during a family's time of need and if I can help support them in any way I am more than happy.
During the Christmas period there is a lot of charitable causes asking for money. This can make it feel like there is a lot of pressure to donate a large amount of money, which a lot of people just can not afford. So I have set a limit on my page of only £2 donations. This little rule will help me fulfil my final two aims for this event.
I would like to reach out to as many people as possible with this project without it having a huge financial or time sacrifice on them. In a previous fundraising event I raised £1000 from 40 supporters - which was amazing and I was incredibly thankful for their donations. However, this year I want increase the amount of supporters. I would rather fall short of my target, raise £600 for the hospice, but in turn get 300 people thinking of the work they as individuals can do to help others.
So therefore my second aim for this event is to spread the word on the great work Naomi House and Jacksplace accomplish to those families in their time of need. If you do not wish to donate right now, not a problem at all, but please share this page with your friends and family. Perhaps in the future you may also consider them for your next charitable fundraiser.
My final aim is get people thinking on how they can help others. How can they volunteer their time, skills, or services to potentially improve someone else's life. With having 100's of supporters for the page, who have only sacrificed £1, this will hopefully start a conversation within friendship circles on how they can help others.
My reason for picking Naomi House and Jacksplace is fairly simple. No child should be worrying about test results, white blood cell counts, or anything else this serious. They should be jumping from trees, getting scared at the top of the big slide, playing fancy dress and other way more cool activities. Naomi House and Jacksplace supports children and families who have been dealt a rotten hand at life, by offering care services they need, when and where they need them and for as long as needed. They can make a huge difference on good days, difficult days and last days.
Remember £2 donation only - less than the price of a coffee, and if you have time, share this page with your friends and families.
Thank you to everyone for their help and support in advance.
