Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
I know I said I would never run another marathon after completing my first one, but the opportunity arose for me to run for this cause, which is so close to my heart, that I simply couldn't refuse!
As you may or may not know, 8 years ago, aged 18 I suffered a severe stroke. I lost my sight, I couldn't walk and I lost my memory.
Slowly and with the support of my truly amazing family, friends, doctors, nurses, paramedics, physiotherapists and a whole bunch of equally patient, kind and caring people, I have made a full recovery.
Now it is time for me to give back, and so, in acknowledgement of my miraculous recovery I am raising money and awareness for the Stroke Association. The Stroke Association offers invaluable support to families experiencing stroke for the first time. It raises awareness for the warning signs of a stroke and it conducts life changing research into the prevention and treatment of stroke.
Without the research and support provided by the Stroke Association, my life and many other's could have turned out very differently. Please donate generously to this amazing cause and also please wish me luck on my Marathon Journey - I'm going to need it!
