As you may know I have taken part in a number of events over the last few years but 2018 has been all about training for the ultimate challenge! At 7am on 9th September I will be on North beach in Tenby to take part in Ironman Wales 2018.

Ironman is a long distance triathlon, which consists of a 2.4mile swim, 112mile bike ride and a 26.2mile run. 

Taking on such a crazy challenge also gives me the opportunity to support a charity and I have decided to raise money for Velindre Cancer Centre. Unfortunately my family, like so many others, have been affected by cancer but we have been fortunate enough to have the care and support we needed from Velindre and it's amazing staff.

To give families such a positive experience during what can be such a devastating time really is an amazing feat but the staff at Velindre do just that. Unfortunately we had to experience the worst outcome when my Stepdad, Ian, lost his battle with cancer. Since then my Mum has volunteered at the centre and now works there too. I hope that by raising money for Velindre I can also do my small part to thank them for everything they have done to support my family.
