Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I wanted to share my story about my Postman Pat Van which has made the community smile and I never expected that my little project would bring so much joy to people. So I thought I would take the opportunity to not only put a smile on people’s faces but to raise money for two great causes at the same time!
I first bought a mobility scooter earlier this year for my Father-in-Law to try out before he bought one for himself. Sadly, Terry was diagnosed with Cancer and lost his battle in July.
Whilst looking for scooters I had ideas about building a Pat Van as it would be fun and keep me busy throughout the lockdown.
My first trip out was to the local McDonalds drivethru, the response on social media was amazing! Everyone saying how it made them smile in these sad times!
Since that first trip out my Pat Van has been all over and even hit the headlines on BBC Look North and other local news, with over 1 million views!!
Therefore, I wanted to appeal to all the community... if you have spotted Postman Pat Hecky aka Fat1 or it’s put a smile on your face, made you laugh or even made your day, then please donate just £2 to support these amazing charities!
The cancer charities are close to my heart because of their support with my Father-in-Law Terry but also the amazing work they do and will hopefully one day find a cure. I also lost a good friend to cancer recently, Nick Holroyd, another great guy taken too soon so hopefully my little Pat Van will not only put a smile on people’s faces but also give something back to these great Cancer Charities.
Thanks for your support
