After being diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma and discovering the amazing work of the Little Princess Trust I aim to raise £900 to give something back to this wonderful charity.
Over the past couple of months, mine and my family's lives have been completely turned upside down by my diagnosis of Stage 2 Hodgkin Lymphoma. It all started when I discovered a lump just above my right collar bone, that a biopsy later revealed to be a type of cancer affecting my lymphatic system - I have just started undergoing chemotherapy.
Before I start to lose my hair due to the chemotherapy, I am going to get a very, very short haircut and donate my long hair to the amazing Little Princess Trust. As well as donating my hair I intend to raise at least £900 which is how much the wig costs that I am going to receive from the LPT.
To support me and help reach my target, my boyfriend Max and my Dad Andy are joining me and getting all of their hair shaved off! I also have the incredible support of so many others around me who are all getting involved in different ways.
All of my friends and family know how much my hair means to me - I’ve even nearly cried just getting an inch cut off at the hairdressers, so the thought of having no hair is terrifying. Meeting such incredible people who work with LPT has made this horrible time in my life a lot easier. Gary of Scruffs Hairdressing (Cambridge) who works with Little Princess Trust has been so incredible in sorting out a wig for me, reassuring me that I will still look like me throughout my treatment.
Thank you in advance to everyone who donates or shares this page, it really means the world.
