Story
Thank you all for visiting my Just Giving page, firstly 😃
I will be cycling (as the summary suggests) from Hoek van Holland to Amsterdam, but also going via Rotterdam, Delft, Leiden, Haarlem and Zaandam.
The cycle is in memory of my dad, Adrian Jackson, who lost his battle with cancer in 2005. Diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma at 23-years old, Adrian was initially given a prognosis that he would be dead within 5 years. However, Adrian's bravery and sheer will to live helped give him a bit more time. The work Yorkshire Cancer Research did to help was also crucial to Adrian. Giving him the chance to take part in drug trials and researching new treatments available, inevitably helped with prolonging his life. Adrian passed away at 40, which is still a tragically young age, leaving behind my mum and having three children (my brother 20, me 18 and my sister 16). However this ultimately means that any memories me, my brother and sister have of my dad are not only thanks to his bravery, but are also thanks to the amazing work of Yorkshire Cancer Research.
We would all give anything to have him here today, and will forever hate this cancer in all forms for how it affects people so badly. Which is why I would like to raise as much money as possible to help other people's loved ones live longer, possibly fully recover or maybe one day find a cure for this horrible illness.
Please give whatever you can spare, and gift aid where possible too.
To all the people donating: Thank you. To cancer: Fuck you!
Bye XXX
