We support treatment, research and care to make our hospitals even better

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page.

I have decided to set myself another challenge!

I am going to run 84km by the 8/4  (all being well 🤞🏻) for Ward 84 of The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. **unfortunately due to Covid and isolating for 10 days the date has changed slightly**

Why?

#RaceForGrace

Grace is my dad’s cousins daughter so this is very close to our hearts.

In December 2019 Grace (5) was diagnosed with a large aggressive brain tumour. When she had her initial biopsy she suffered an almost fatal bleed on the brain and was left paralysed in Intensive Care over Christmas 2019 and she then spent the following 6 months in hospital.

She had numerous operations, rigorous chemotherapy and high dose radiotherapy to combat the disease.

The lasting effects of her bleed on the brain have left Grace with mobility, communication & cognitive difficulties. She can only walk short distances unaided, must remain tube fed due to an unsafe swallow and struggles with her sensory perception.

She has been AMAZING GRACE throughout it all; so brave and strong. She works incredibly hard learning to walk and talk again.

Grace is a pure inspiration to everyone and is the true meaning of the word RESILIENT with an incredible infectious smile which she has had throughout.

Over the past 14 months Grace has been so incredibly strong so I wanted to raise money for this incredible charity that have supported Grace and her family, and continue to do so.

I would be truly grateful if you could sponsor me, as would Grace and her family, no donation is too small.

Thank you 🐼🌈
