Story

Hello all!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I am raising money and awareness for NALC (National Association of Laryngectomy Clubs) by taking part in HYROX, an intense fitness challenge which takes place globally. I will be taking part in May 2023 in London.

In February 2022 I underwent a Total Laryngectomy (removal of my Larynx) due to having Larynx cancer. The whole experience has been challenging mentally and physically.

Thanks to the support of staff at St Georges Hospital in Tooting, I was able to make a fast recovery. Also having the support of my family and close friends was invaluable!  The money raised  for the NLAC will help towards providing support for people living with a Laryngectomy who don’t have all the extra support.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

The association was formed in 1976 with the objective to promote the welfare and rehabilitation of laryngectomy patients and their families. To be of assistance to those professionals working in the field of laryngectomy. NALC collects and disseminates relevant information and has an education programme which includes seminars for both patients and professionals. The association offers various services including counselling and a help and referral service. NALC has an extensive range of literature and DVD’s. We support relevant studies and clinical trials in their application for funding. Our members contribute by reviewing patient leaflets and joining steering committees.
