Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Several years ago my Dad, Bert, was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and since then we as a family have tried to do our bit to help raise money for research into this disease, which at the moment has no known cure.
This year we plan to raise as much money as we can by doing several things, I will carry out at least one Obstacle Course Race a month, every month, throughout the year, so I will be doing 8 Tough Mudder's, 2 Tartan Warriors, 2 MacTuff's, a Badass Mucker and a Winter Wolf run and probably a few more that I've forgotten about, as well as several walking, running and cycling events thrown in for good measure, one of which will be the Glencoe Challenge, which Clair and myself will be doing. Over the course of the year I will be joined on several of these events by family and friends who are keen to help out.
So what is an Obstacle Course Race? Well it is a course of between 3 and 12 miles, depending on the event, of mud, sweat and possibly tears with electrocutions, plunges into ice cold water, hills, more mud, plenty of things to climb over, under and through, some more mud, tyres to flip, weights to carry and even more mud!! All of this will mean I will be covering almost 275km (170 miles) with the aim of raising as much money for Parkinson's as possible.
